Spyker C8 Aileron Spyder Makes UK Debut at MPH Show

Spyker has been a constant presence in the headlights recently thanks to multiple moves performed by Saab, which is in the midst of an aggressive rebirth process (Spyker now owns Saab). It is now time for the Dutch automotive producer to put on the performance vehicle coat and enter the scene: the Spyker C8 Aileron Spyder is making its UK debut today at the MPH The Prestige and Performance Motor Show at Earls Court in London.

We are talking about a vehicle powered by a 4.2 liter V8 that delivers 400 hp and comes with aircraft-inspired styling cues. These include jet engine-inspired air intakes, exterior mirrors mounted on two turbine fan blades and unique 10-blade 19-inch Rotorblade alloy wheels.

The C8 Aileron Spyder sports a high-quality canvas soft-top with a glass rear windscreen, which retracts electro-hydraulically out of sight, ensuring a clean, undisturbed profile.  Its aluminium tonneau, with two buttresses upholstered in quilted leather matching the car’s interior, proudly features the company’s motto ‘Nulla Tenaci Invia Est Via’: for the tenacious, no road is impassable.  An aluminium luggage rack is mounted immediately behind the roll hoops, on which a purpose-designed wing-shaped aluminium, leather-trimmed luggage case can be strapped,” stated the press release.

The interior of the car comes with Spyker’s trademark diamond-stitched quilted leather upholstery. The aviation theme is also featured inside the car, through the use of a brushed aluminium dashboard and turbine-style air vents. The polished aluminium Chronoswiss dash toggle switches and dials come to complete the job.
