The last time we saw a 'Vette C8 race was in Miami (no, not GTA 6's Vice City) when it went head-to-head with a $300,000 5.2-liter V10 Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica. The Corvette lost by just 0.5(ish) seconds, but that wasn't necessarily bad. The C8 Z06 costs almost less than half the Lambo at $160,000. A bit over half a second isn't really the end of the world when you save $140k. Today, we're visiting a different Corvette C8 that's racing an all-time favorite, the BMW M4 Competition.
The 2022 Corvette C8 has a mid-mounted 6.2-liter V8 engine that can produce 495 hp (502 ps) and 470 lb-ft or 637 Nm of torque. Usually, the 2022 C8 has 490 hp, but this has the Z51 package, which gives it a bit more oomph.

As you would expect, it's rear-wheel drive and weighs in at 3,647 lbs. or 1,654 kg. The word on the track is that this baby can reach a top speed of 194 mph or 312 kph.

It should go from 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 122 mph at the quarter-mile mark in 11.2 seconds. When it came out, it went for as "low" as $62,200 for the 1LT model, all the way up to $74,000 for the 3LT version.

Do you know what other car has been tested to go from 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds? That's right, its competitor, the 2022 BMW M4 Competition, is a beast of a machine!

Even though it's in lime green, it's no lemon. In some tests, it scored 11 seconds racing the quarter-mile, which, in theory, should put it in front of its competitor.

The M4 has a 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder powerplant that can deliver up to 503 hp (510 ps) with 479 lb-ft (649 Nm) of torque. It has an 8-speed automatic transmission system and weighs 3,904 lbs. or 1,770 kg.

Depending on the options and whatnot, you could have configured the 2022 model starting from $80k to $102,000. Even more, if you really wanted to.

The rules of this Canadian-based race are simple. Sam from the Sam CarLegion YouTube channel is behind the wheel of the M4 Competition and will take on the Corvette C8 in a few drag and roll races to see which one goes home with the gold.

During the first roll race, both cars were neck and neck for the better part until the BMW took the lead and won by at least four car lengths. The second try wasn't any different. Try as it might, the C8 couldn't keep up.

The M4 started in xDrive mode for the first drag race, destroying the C8 with a grudge. It really left it in the rear-view mirror. On the second turn, the BMW switched to RWD mode, which was fascinating to watch. During the first half of the second race, the Corvette took the lead and surprisingly... won.

I say surprisingly because something biazarre happens in the video. You see the BMW take the lead, then there's a cut, and after, the Corvette wins. Something must have happened with the footage during filming or editing.

At the end of the day, the C8 reached 60 in just 2.9 seconds with a 1/4-mile time of 11.3 seconds. The M4 got from 0 to 60 in 3.0 seconds and finished the quarter-mile in 11.4 seconds.
