There’s a very good reason why electronic stability control systems have become or are on the verge of becoming mandatory throughout the world. They really help out drivers in the most difficult of situations, by using the car’s brakes to help keep you going straight, whenever the car’s brain notices you have lost grip.
Trucks also have all sorts of complicated stability and traction systems, but apparently this one didn’t. We don`t even know why its driver veered to the left so violently, as there was no obstacle blocking his path, yet what he almost caused is frightening.
The driver of the car with the dash-mounted camera was just driving along, when an 18-wheeler coming the other way veers onto its lane, and loses grip completely. The car driver is forced to also veer left, and the trailer of the truck just clips his wing-mirror.
However, another car was approaching from the oncoming lane, and it is clipped slightly more seriously. Still, things turned out very well, given that the situation could have turned very ugly.
