Sneak Peak of the Lexus LX 570

Say goodbye to the Lexus LX 470 and please welcome the new 2008 LX 570, which has just been presented by the Japanese/American manufacturer in the New York International Auto Show. The company's officials brag that the new LX 570 is packed with the luxury appointments and seamless technology that every Lexus customer expects to get when purchasing one of their cars.

As regarding power, the LX 570 has a 5.7 liter V8 engine that can produce 381 horsepower, more than 100 horsepower compared with the LX 470. This V8 has a maximum torque of 677 Nm, all coupled to a six speed sequential automatic transmission. When it comes to towing power, the Lexus LX 570 takes advantage of its new chassis and suspension system and can tow up to 8,500 pounds (3,855 kg), almost 2,000 pounds (907 kg) more than the LX 470.

By the looks of it, this car practically drives itself, thanks to the Crawl Control system which takes charge when going over rough or difficult surfaces. For example, when in low range, the Craw Control system reduces the speed of the car to a more appropriate value, so the driver can focus only on the steering. But don't get the wrong idea, "it's not" a cruise control system which has received a new name, because Craw Control allows you to reduce speed by braking, or speed up by tampering with the speed selector switch. Now really, it is a cruise control system, one that becomes active at low speeds.

The new LX 570 also includes multi-terrain ABS system and a blind corner monitor which is hooked to the cameras located in the grille and under the passenger side mirror. As always, Lexus is well represented in the luxury department, but I'm not going to bore with all the luxury amenities, just note the 19 speaker Mark Levinson audio system with Reference Surround Sound and the Lexus Intuitive park Assist.
