smart “Lambo” Roadster

If you fancy yourself to be a mechanic, here's a new project for you. A German car parts company has just released some new wing hinges for the smart Roadster, hinges that will turn your smart Roadster into a Lambo (or ar least we can dream). The hinges will change the direction in which your doors open, making the overall look of your car much more spectacular.

The company responsible for the wing door hinges for the smart Roadster is LSD (Lambo Style Doors), and they promise a quick and easy installation. On top of this, LSD door fittings need to be mounted directly at the points where the original doors were removed, making them the perfect fit. To get a a better grip for shutting the door, the hinges allow three-dimensional adjustments.

Installing this kind of doors on a car can raise some safety concerns, but LSD assures that a testing facility accredited by the Federal motoring bureau in Germany, patented the hinges as being as safe as the stock version.

The LSD door-altering package does not affect in any way the structure of the car, there is no welding or repainting necessary and the adjustable buffers make the doors open just right, not too wide and not too narrow, the outward motion angle being of 30 degrees. Also, the buffers are meant to prevent the doors from falling downward or inward when opened.

All in all, the new smart Roadster door fittings change the overall aspect of the car dramatically, and it can prove to be an important piece in a tuner's arsenal.
