The TAC Motors Stark is a Brazilian-made small plastic off-roader, currently powered by a Euro IV-compliant Fiat sourced 2.3-liter diesel engine. It has been on sale since mid-2009 and the company now wants to go green with its pint-sized 4x4.
Electric drive specialists, MotoCyzysz have been given the task to rip out the Stark’s engine and replace it with an electric motor, thus giving rise to the eStark. The company will use their “D1g1tal Dr1ve” electric drivetrain, which is specifically designed to be retrofitted to various road cars.

TAC Motors want to build no fewer than 3,600 eStarks, and since the diesel-powered version is already extremely popular in Brazil among off-road enthusiasts, there’s no reason why this greener Stark wouldn’t be as appreciated, if not more.

Furthermore, we think the electric motor could give a new edge to off-roading, as it’s common knowledge that it has maximum torque from 0rpm and it will pull the light-weight vehicle out of a tight spot faster than the diesel ever could, without the risk of stalling or changing gears or any of that nonsense.
