Skoda Vision WRC Concept Study

It's not often we see the work of an independent designer or design student come as close to the factory-sanctioned models and concept, but this doesn't mean that, from time to time, somebody doesn't get it right.

Take for instance the Skoda Vision WRC Concept, the creation of Czech designer Pavel Hruby and published in Czech Magazine AutoDesign&Styling. Inspired, he says, from the VisionD concept present by the Volkswagen-owned brand last month, at the Geneva Auto Show, the creation manages, for all intents and purposes, to retain the familiar Skoda look, while at the same time presenting a much more aggressive stance.

“Sharply cut features of the Geneva Vision D concept have a feeling of precision. In my concept of the factory special for WRC, I tried to express the new design language more aggressively,” the designer of the concept says according to Car Body Design.

No details on what could possibly hide under the hood of the model were announced, as there were no similar details provided for the VisionD concept. Undoubtedly though, through the VisionD, and now through the Vision WRC Concept, Skoda and the people that love the brand have shown that the automaker is on the right track, at least as far as ideas go.

Fighting with Seat over the title of most loved little child in the Volkswagen group, Skoda's new approach to design, be it official or less so, shows the Czech brand pays a bit more attention to details. This becomes even more apparent when you look at the VisionD concept, a clear evolution of the brand, but one that doesn't hurt the original design lines in the model range from the Czech Republic.
