The Frankfurt Auto Show will see Skoda unveil a new concept that is set to be an important development, as it will preview the company’s future sixth model range.
Dubbed, MissionL, the concept is close to the production version of the future model, which shouldn’t be far from its market release. Judging by the image and the Czech carmaker’s current model range, we think that the car might by similar to the Volkswagen Jetta.
Skoda announced that the car will be destined for the Chinese, European and Russian markets, as well as in India. However, each market will receive a specific form that can best cater to its needs. For example, the vehicle you see teased here is a liftback model, but Skoda will market a compact sedan in India.
“Revealing the look of our new compact model, the MissionL shows exactly the direction our brand is going to take,” says Skoda Board Chairman Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. “The world premiere in Frankfurt gives a clear signal that Skoda is going full steam ahead now. We are going to present a new vehicle every six months over the next two or three years.”
The new model is part of an aggressive expansion strategy, which should see the company expand its market share in multiple countries, as well as develop new production pathways.
