For the first time ever, Skoda has shown the brand new MissionL concept outside of Europe, as the white sedan bowed at the 2012 Qatar Motor Show highlighting the brand’s international growth strategy. Looking a bit like the Skoda version of the Polo sedan, this near production-ready vehicle also show the Czech brand’s future design language.
In the press statement, Skoda said the production version will be launched in major international markets in late 2012. We originally expected a full reveal last year for the production model and production debut for early this year, but it looks like the European market conditions are forcing automakers to rethink some strategy.
“2011 was a very important year for us, in which we made significant achievements,” said Jurgen Stackmann, Skoda Board Member for Sales and Marketing. “We set new records in 2011 and we are well on course for our 2018 growth strategy. The brand sold more cars in all regions than in the previous year,” said Stackmann, speaking at the presentation of Skoda MissionL concept in Qatar.
