Rumors about Skoda and SEAT offering a smaller SUV in the near future have been around for quite a while. We even know that an eventual subcompact crossover from these companies could be based on Volkswagen's Taigun concept.
"Automotive manipulator" Theophilus Chin has already envisioned a Taigun-based Skoda mini SUV, calling it "Jeti" (Junior Yeti), but now we have our own version on our hands.
This time named CitiSUV, the new "Baby Yeti" rendering bears the same Volkswagen Taigun styling cues, except for some front fascia features. The grille and the headlamps were designed in typical Skoda fashion, while the steel underbody plating has been dropped for a more familiar looking lower apron.
The wheels have also been upgraded closer to production form, a casual five-spoke arrangement replacing the futuristic architecture seen on Volkswagen's Taigun concept.
Estimated date of release for the Skoda CitiSUV? 2015. Now we wait...
