Shelby American announced today that 2013 will be the last year of availability for its limited-run series of the highly-acclaimed Shelby GT350 musclecars.
Still taking orders for all 2012-2014 model year GT350s, Shelby American says it will end production as of January 1, 2014. On the other hand, the company will continue to offer the Shelby GTS, GT500 Super Snake, Shelby 1000, and Raptor pickup trucks.

"The Shelby GT350 is one of the world's most celebrated, iconic muscle cars," said John Luft, president of Shelby American. "When we unveiled this latest version of the Shelby GT350, we promised it would be built for a limited time to preserve its collectability and value. So we've been preparing for this day since 2010. In true Carroll Shelby fashion, we're planning our next ultimate performance Shelby model."

The original Shelby GT350s were built from 1965 through 1967 and have become the most desirable Mustangs ever created. Developed in the same fashion and in limited numbers, the 2012-2014 GT350 could have the same illustrious fate.
