Shanghai to Host SAE International Vehicle Battery Summit

With China now the world’s largest car manufacturer, the most important engineers, scientists and managers from the battery, automotive, utility and lithium mining industries will come together in Shanghai between September 1-3, 2010, when the SAE International's Vehicle Battery Summit takes place. The international summit will be held at the Sheraton Hongqiao Hotel in China’s largest city.

The Summit is organized in cooperation with Advanced Automotive Batteries USA and the China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC).

Menahem Anderman, President of Advanced Automotive Batteries and founder of Total Battery Consulting, will serve as chairperson for the summit.

“Co-sponsored by SAE-China, the Summit is designed to provide corporate-level engineering and business decision makers with an assessment of current and near term Li-ion battery systems alternatives and capabilities; as well as critical marketplace and supply chain information,” a SAE statement reads. “Dr. Anderman has organized an outstanding list of more than twenty expert speakers representing the world's largest and most successful companies in the vehicle battery and related industries.”

The program compares worldwide technological advances, including developments in Europe, Taiwan, Korea, the U.S. and in particular China, and also examines growth projections for the electrified vehicle/battery markets and explores their implications for the global marketplace.

SAE International recently released the full list of 2010 Board of Directors. The list includes three officers and five directors who will be serving in the SAE Board of Directors. The Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer will serve a two-year term and the Vice President-Automotive and Directors will serve a three-year term.
