Pixar animators are working hard on creating new characters for the upcoming sequel to the popular Cars movie. Mater, Lightning McQueen, Sally and the rest of the cars will be joined by a number of new faces.

According to HeyYouGuys, this will include Shu Todoruki, a Le Mans prototype racer from Japan. The character sports a fiery red Ka-Riu dragon, which he borrowed from the Japanese legend because he relates to the fierce nature of the dragon.

Also new to the cast is “World’s Greatest Rally Car," Raoul CaRoule. He has a restless personality, joining the famous ‘Cirque du Voiture’ French circus where he learned Gymkhana, a drifting motorsport that taught him excellent timing and the ability to navigate tricky courses with ease.

As you’ve probably seen from the trailers, a pair of crime fighters help our heroes McQueen and Mater fight a duo of evildoers. We can finally tell you what the names of all those characters are known.

Grem is a rusty-looking AMC Gremlin, while his partner in crime, Acer, is a similarly crusty Pacer. The two characters who will try to put an end to their efforts are Finn McMissile, a master British spy, and Holley Shiftwell, beautiful young British desk agent. Both crime-fighters come armed to the teeth. McMissile is a stylized Aston Martin DB5, James Bond's trademark vehicle.

The plot of the new movie centers around an international scheme to disrupt the World Grand Prix. The computer-animated 3D film is currently scheduled for release in the US on June 24 and in the UK on July 22, 2011.
