Three tuners from three different cities have been given one of the best challenges at this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Each was given one clean canvas in the form of a stock 2013 Scion FR-S which they then had to tune using a $15,000 budget and just three months of build time.
The tuners chosen by Scion were John Toca of Chicago, Illinois; Daniel Song of Orange County, California; and Chris Basselgia of Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Whoever will be decided as the winner will get $10,000 in prize money.

Of the three, our favorite by far is the West Coast build. You can really see the passion Daniel Song has for the FR-S, not just the tuning world. He wanted to build a GT3, basically a racing car. The project is obviously very ambitions, raw and sinister. We bet this will be fan’s favorite, but what will the judges think?

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
