Schumacher's Manager Rules Out Comeback

The news about Michael Schumacher allegedly return to Formula One racing seem to be more contradictory by the minute. After Schu's spokeswoman Sabine Kehm today confirmed her employer would consider stepping into the F60 cockpit to replace injured Felipe Massa, the German's long-time manager Willi Weber insisted his client will certainly not return to F1.

Talking to the British newspaper The Daily Mail, Weber said there is nothing in the world that would convince the 7-time world champion to return to racing in the Great Circle. Not only he doesn't find it that attractive anymore, but also his physical condition doesn't allow him to become competitive.

Whoever sits in the car at the next race in Valencia, it will not be Michael Schumacher. I am not 100 per cent sure; I am 200 per cent sure,” said Weber in an interview with the aforementioned source.

The pressure on him would be huge. He would be expected to win, but he has not driven this car. When Michael was racing he would get as close to perfection as possible. In this case, it would not be perfection; it would be a gamble - and that's not Michael's style,” added the German manager.

Weber met with Schumacher during the course of this week to discuss the potential extension of the German's deal with Ferrari. His current role as consultant for the Maranello based team is to end after the last round of 2009 (at Abu Dhabi) and he is expected to decide whether to continue to work for the prancing horse or look for another challenge inside F1.
