Schumacher Denies Comeback, Brawn Rumors

Michael Schumacher insisted, once again, that returning to Formula One racing is certainly not an option for him anymore. Having been in the public eye quite constant during the past few months – either due to his yet-uncertain role with the Scuderia or his motorcycle racing plans – Schu also revealed he is now evaluating his options for 2010.

I haven't had the need of the adrenaline all these years,” said Schumacher in an interview with BBC Sport, while present at the Nurburgring last weekend.

What I'm doing now is for the pure pleasure. I have put myself a certain distance away from it and it doesn't feel the same at all. When you're inside you're so deeply involved in the details and I'm certainly not because I don't want to dedicate the time for it. I have a nice distance in order to overview things from a relaxed base and from that point of view give decent input.”

Although there are plenty of question marks about it, it's likely we'll see a more activated Michael Schumacher next year, in Formula One. While former 3-time F1 champion Niki Lauda insisted Ferrari should be the team to make that step, recent rumors have suggested that the German driver is on his way to rejoining his former boss Ross Brawn at Brackley.

Schu's contract with the Scuderia will end this year, and the German's long-time manager Willi Weber admitted there is a good chance he won't stick around the Maranello garage any longer. For the time being, however, the German ace denies all rumors regarding his future move.

If I would have wanted to work, I had the options, and may even now have the options. But right now, it is not what I am looking for,” Schumacher added.
