Chopper builders showing a fearsome streetfighter is not exactly the most common thing out there, but if the builders are Santiago Chopper, things can become really interesting.
Alain Bernard of Santiago decided to work his magic on one of the bikes he has always loved: the Kawasaki Z1000. With a custom frame built by French chassis guru Georges Martin, for a nimble character with impeccable handling.

After effectively stripping all the unnecessary parts from the Z1000, Alain wanted some more power, so he got a Vance&Hines drag racing exhaust for the new build. To make things as straightforward as it gets, the 4-into-1 exhaust was simply chopped off to a stub: free-flowing gasses added more power and the Suzuki GSX-R1000 swingarm can now be proudly displayed.

The fork was sourced from another GSX, alongside the cast wheels. Airbox gone, the Kawasaki Z1000 now has a dramatically enhanced intake, and provided one keeps away form dusty roads, this spells even more power.

Instrumentation was kept to the minimum possible and the front end also received two miniature headlights, in perfect sync with the new minimalist attire of the Z1000. And with a premium-quality gloss black paint, this Santiago Chopper-made Z1000 is looking almost perfect. Via Bike Exif, photos by Erick Runyon.
