Santa Brings BMW M3 to Fastest Man in the World

As if driving a Ferrari on the Monte Carlo F1 circuit weren't enough to show off for the fastest man of the planet, the three-time Olympic Champion's sponsor PUMA has decided to play Santa's role this year and fulfill Usain Bolt's dream of owning a BMW M3 Coupe. The vehicle should reach Bolt before Christmas.

The world record holder had the chance to test his Christmas present in advance, in Aschheim, near Munich at the BMW Vehicle Test Facility and find out how it is to reach 100 km/h in only 4.6 seconds. Bolt tested the 414 horsepower sports car during wintry road conditions, under the attentive supervision of a BMW driving instructor and didn't save any of the car's strength.

As he confessed, what impressed him the most about the motor was its tremendous power and the full sound of the engine. Certainly the gift is fully deserved by the 22-year old Jamaican who set the world record in the men's 100 meters at 9.69 seconds, in men's 200 meters at 19.30 seconds and in the 4X100-meter relay at 37.10 seconds and got three Olympic gold medals in recognition of his performance at the Beijing Olympics.

The fastest man in the world surely enjoys riding at fast speeds and that couldn't be passed over unnoticed. That's why, during his visit to BMW Welt, Ian Robertson, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG and Dr. Kay Segler, Head of Region Importers BMW Group, introduced their athletic guest to the entire BMW portfolio. Yet, his main preferences headed towards BMW motorcycles and the various versions of the BMW M3.

As he describes, his first contact with such a vehicle was “love at first sight” and didn't miss any chance to join his uncle while driving his BMW. Bolt has developed a passion for the brand ever since and has always dreamed of having such a jewel in his garage.
