San Diego International Auto Show Begins, Offering Health Checks to Visitors

The San Diego International Auto Show today opened its doors to the public and, beside the cars everybody will be able to see until Sunday, January 2, organizers have also prepared something new: nurses in the Scripps Health Pit Stop will offer several health checks to all those interested.

“I don’t think most people would come to an auto show and think of health screening, but when you think that if you took as good of care of yourself as you did of your car, we’d probably all be in better shape," Amy Foley, director of market for the New Car Dealers Association, organizers of the show, was quoted as saying by San Diego Consumer.

There will be numerous manufacturers displaying cars at the show, including Ford, GM, Hyundai, Jeep, Toyota and Kia, but organizers have prepared several surprises on the approximately 700,000 square feet of the San Diego Convention Center.

Probably one of the most interesting goodies prepared to visitors is the Jeep Rocks and Road Tour that allows attendees to test their off-road skills behind the wheel of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee or the Jeep Wrangler.

“We have created the ‘Jeep Rocks & Road Tour’ to provide our current and potential customers with an adventurous experience that is exclusive to the Jeep brand,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC.

“We are partnering with various venues across the country to reach out to our loyal Jeep consumers, while branching out to those with new interest in the one-of-a-kind Jeep brand. This tour provides an ideal venue to experience the countless features and legendary capability offered in the all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the iconic Jeep Wrangler.”
