Saab Wins First Swedish Touring Car Race

Finally we get to write a piece of Saab-related news that can be filed under “positive”, as the defunct Swedish carmaker has won the inaugural round of the Swedish Touring Car Series.
The race ,which took place on the Karlskoga Motorstadion on March 12, saw Team Tido’s black 9.3 race car take pole position and hold on to the No 1 spot until the checkered flag was dropped.

Of course, this doesn’t prove too many things, as we are talking about silhouette racing, which means that BMW, Citroen, Saab and Volvo just place their bodies over a standard chassis, but still, Saab needed some sun after all that rain.

Before we go, we’ll remind you that the Swedish carmaker was the subject of a letter sent to President Obama, in which the latter was asked to save the company - no official answer was provided so far.
