Russian ‘Supersheep’ Gets Hit by Car - Walks Away Unscathed

Animals seem to be more resilient than we give them credit for. Take this buffalo which has no trouble in causing damage to a car passing by, or this Russian sheep who gets hit by a car, then spins in the middle of the road like a top, then gets up and runs away.
After close analysis of the video, we arrived at the conclusion that the impact was quite serious and if the sheep wasn’t so wooly and able to absorb the impact, things could have been much worse. Having thick fur (or wool, in this case) is the animal equivalent of airbags and, just like the automotive variety, they save lives.

Still, this is further proof that Volvo’s animal avoidance system will be put to use on the world’s roads, when it will eventually get introduced onto the market. However, the system should be tuned not to detect sheep (and other wooly and furry critters), as they seem more than able to fend for themselves with ease.
