Taking a shortcut to reach a destination quicker is only worth the effort/risk if you don’t hurt yourself (and others), or damage your car. This Russian driver, however, takes his bog-standard Ford Focus sedan all the way up a guard rail, while trying to speed things up on a crowded highway.
He fails miserably and we are entitled to laugh at him because if he would have succeeded, it would actually have been a very bad example for the rest of the drivers stuck in that particular traffic jam. The video does beg the question, though: How could the driver not have seen the guard rail heading straight for him? Braking would definitely have been an option, at least.
We hope people took pictures and laughed, because, in this particular case, ridicule is much better than a fine at deterring other drivers from attempting the same kind of maneuver.
