Rosberg Angry with Mercedes GP over Poor Development

After the Canadian Grand Prix, Mercedes GP prepared intensively for their major update in Valencia, but what they've got was some poor performances in both qualifying and race from Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher. The former was the only one to score a single point in Spain, but only after the FIA handed some 5-second penalties to the cars in front of him.

If Rosberg urged his team not to give up on the 2010 campaign just yet, as a couple of race wins could promote him to a title contender, now he's pissed. The German is angrier than ever about his situation in F1, as the team he left at the end of last season, Williams F1, is currently outpacing his new team with whom he hoped to battle for the championship from the get go.

If you're twelfth, behind both Williams - who two weeks ago were nowhere - what do you expect? I went from Williams to Mercedes because I thought I would have a winning car,” Rosberg was quoted as saying in an interview with Cologne publication Express.

Although debuting a brand new exhaust layout – borrowed from Red Bull – and a bunch of other improvements, Rosberg insisted his team still hasn't addressed the most important issue of all, which is getting the tires of the W01 up to temperature faster.

It's a disaster. The problem with the tires is well known to the team. For weeks we have said we are coming to the front, but nothing happens – actually we go backwards,” added the 25-year old German.

Mercedes GP's Ross Brawn however insisted that the decision to switch development towards the 2011 car has not been taken yet, as the aero package debuted in Valencia is expected to work properly only after a few more races.

We have not done a good enough job. First we need to get our new aero package working properly, and depending on the result we will decide to what extent we then concentrate on next season,” said Brawn.
