Rolls-Royce has developed yet another bespoke variant of its Phantom luxury sedan.
This time, the one-off Phantom is based on the Extended Wheelbase version of the model and is named Sunrise Phantom. Obviously, the car is meant to evoke the shade that the sky turns in the morning. Specifically, the craftsmen responsible for the paint job had a difficult task at hand. How does one choose a hue of paint that will resemble the sky at sunrise, we ask.
Well, as it turns out, the Rolls-Royce Sunrise Phantom Extended Wheelbase has a pinkish hue. Recently, this color came into the public eye as the new option in Apple’s iPhone 6S range. Back in Cupertino, that shade is called Rose Gold. This paint job has more to do with gold than with pink, but the result is what matters.
In case you needed an example of why the Bespoke division at Rolls-Royce is so good at its job, let's remember what a Pink Rolls-Royce Ghost looks like if it's not painted in factory.
We must admit this version of the Phantom is just as beautiful as a black variant, and it also has its particular high points. And while we’re not going to paint our cars “rose gold” anytime soon, we can admire this vehicle’s exterior shade. According to Rolls-Royce, this particular finish looks stunning under direct sunlight, where it shimmers different hues of pink and gold. If we ever get the chance to see this one-off on the road, we’ll get back to you on that. Until then, we’ll just have to trust Goodwood’s finest.
As usual, the Brits at Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke Workshop didn’t stop at an exterior paint job and customized the interior as well. First of all, the fine leather used matches the exterior shade. Rolls-Royce’s interior specialists covered the car’s passenger compartment with leather, as usual. The classic wood veneer trim features a particular motif and includes a gold inlay of the Spirit of Ecstasy.
Since the British brand has an expertise on customized vehicles, discretion is key. In other words, the brand’s officials haven’t stated where this car will be delivered.
