Road Race: Stock ZR1 Vs Mustang GT500

Road racing is dangerous, illegal and can result in you being beheaded in Dubai. However, if you’ve clicked on this post, you’re probably not into the high and mighty stuff and want to see two American performance cars dueling.
On the one hand, you have a 2011 Mustang GT500, a 5.4-liter V8 supercharged pony car that has swopped its normal bellows for a Whipple supercharger pushing output to 590 horsepower at the wheel.

It’s adversary is Chevrolet and indeed America’s idea of a supercar, the Corvette ZR1. The 2011 model is bone stock, The car puts out about 650 horsepower (DIN at the engine) from a 6.2-liter V8 engine, enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in 3.4 seconds.

More powerful than the Z06 model, it is now the most powerful Corvette currently in production and a true man’s car, but despite this it’s even with the tuned Mustang.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
