Return of the NLV Quant

Remember the street racer named Quant, first presented by NLV Solar at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show? Well, it was there all right, but we can't really remember it either. Anyway, this year Geneva event will also witness the concept, but this time showing a different guise and without any Koenigsegg particle in its name (you will see in the lines below what we mean).

Back to the new NLV Quant, the concept is meant to be a an innovative four-seater electric car, ready to enter production in the years to come (not clear exactly when). According to its maker, the Quant is something like we've never seen before.

"The design, drive system, range and photovoltaics of the Quant are already spectacular and record-breaking as individual components, and we believe that together they will mark a milestone in automotive history."

Loosely translated, "spectacular and record-breaking" means no official details have yet been released. According to Autoblog however, the Quant will be the first production car built with a four-seat carbon fiber chassis and a body covered front-to-back by a solar film. Somewhere under the body, four electric motors will provide an output of 150 kilowatt (201 hp).

Now, returning to the Koenigsegg NLV story, last year, following the Geneva event, the Swedish carmaker decided to set itself apart from the Quant project by saying it "is not a Koenigsegg Automotive car and was never intended to be." The carmaker helped NLV with the body, interior design and chassis conceptualization for the 2009 project.

autoevolution will be attending the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
