Lancia is probably the least favored brand of all the ones controlled by Fiat Group on two companies right now. Their lineup is made up of some American models with different badges, and a couple of hatchbacks - the veteran Delta and the new Ypsilon that despite being a brand new car hasn’t gotten anyone’s attention.
While the fact that European consumers will be able to buy a Chrysler 300 directly off the lot without having to go to a specialist importer is deffinetely a good thing, it still doesn’t compensate for the fact that Lancia’s brand has been diluted to almost nothing. Designer David Cardoso also thought this and so he set about creating a true Italian model, and the Imperiale is what he came up with

"When Lancia recently brought out the Thema that is based on the American Chrysler 300C, I was let down by Lancia as it disowned its own Italian design language. The Imperiale is an attempt to create a worthy Thesis successor. That's actually the essence of my motivation," Cardoso told autoevolution.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
