One year after its launch in France, Renault celebrated the ZOE electric car with style, in front of the famous Chateau de Versailles. More than 40 people who have bought the car will actually be gathering in the low gallery of the palace to talk about their experience with this unique model.
Renault says that the totally silent ride and creamy-smooth acceleration makes this a uniquely pleasant experience and that all people need to be sold on the car is to drive it: 98% of ZOE owners are satisfied and 97% would recommend it.
What their press release doesn't say is that not a lot of people have actually bought the ZOE. While it's certainly the most widespread EV in France, even here it managed to sell only 5,511 examples last year tens of times less than the Clio, which sold 103,172 in its domestic market last year.
It's a little early for these golden gates, don't you think Renault?
