Reigning Champion Johnson Wins New Hampshire

After what up until now can be considered a bit of a dry season when it comes to winning races, four time defending champion Jimmie Johnson managed to take the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday, bringing him 105 points behind series leader Kevin Harvick.

Johnson crossed the finish line 0.753 seconds in front of runner up Tony Stewart, but not before getting his car shoved by Kurt Busch up the track in Turn 3. Johnson managed to come back and overtake Busch only five laps later and with only one lap to spare.

"When we got going on the restart, Kurt knocked me out of the way, and I thought, 'I don't care if I win this race or not - I don't care if I finish this damn thing - I am running into him and getting back by him one way or another," the champion said in Victory Lane.

"I'm not good at doing that stuff. Usually I crash myself in the process, so I tried once and moved him - and thought 'Oh, yeah, I've got to hit him harder' -- and the second time I moved him out of the way and was able to get by him and was able to get going."

This is the 52nd win of Johnson's career. The Lenox Industrial Tools 301 ended with Tony Stewart coming in second, with the top five being completed by Kurt Busch, Jeff Gordon and series leader Kevin Harvick.
