Red Bull to Hit the Streets of Belfast

Red Bull Racing will continue their tradition of staging demonstration events throughout some important cities worldwide, and their next stop is the capital of Northern Ireland, Belfast. According to a press release from the Austrian team, former Grand Prix driver David Coulthard will be at the wheel of a Red Bull-prepared car for this particular event.

It will all take place in front of the famous City Hall, where Red Bull's garage will also be on display for the diehard racing fans. While the actual drive is set to begin at 8 PM this Saturday, the fans will have the chance to visit the garage and get a glimpse of “what goes on behind the scenes at a Formula One paddock” between 12 PM and 4 PM.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to visit Belfast and bring Formula One a bit closer to the people of the City. I know Belfast is renowned for its love of motorsports and I’m sure I’ll get an amazing welcome as always!” said Coulthard.

It is still unclear what car will Red Bull use for the demonstration event, but we believe the Scot will drive Red Bull's 2008 challenger, the RB4.

Red Bull's David Coulthard is currently a pundit for BBC, the official broadcaster of Formula One in the UK. At the same time, however, he remains a consultant for his former F1 employer, for which he does this kind of events every once in a while – last year, he showed up in a Red Bull F1 car in the city of Mamaia, Romania, for a similar event.
