Red Bull, Coulthard to Do F1 Demonstration in Colombia

David Coulthard seems to be enjoying his time outside Formula One racing, as the Scot has been booked for yet another demonstration event with his Red Bull Racing employer this weekend. Following his meeting with the Irish fans on the streets of Belfast, while driving and F1 car prepared by Red Bull, the former Grand Prix driver is set for an encounter with the passionate racing fans of Colombia.

Starting this very Saturday, DC will hit the streets of Bogota from as early as 6.30 AM, giving the “residents of Bogota an early wake-up call,” as pointed out by the official Formula One site. He will drive the RB4, the single-seater that he used to compete with during his last season in the series, on a course running from “Plaza de Bolivar to 18th Street.”

It will be my first time in Colombia itself, but I have visited South America several times, so I expect the same warm reception and friendly people I've found elsewhere,” said Coulthard in a preview for the Colombian demonstration event with Red Bull.

I've never driven a Formula One car at a height like Bogota, and although we will have less engine power by having less oxygen in the air, I'm sure we will give a great show to the public,” added the Scot, who will take the RB4 for a drive at approximately 2,640 metres above sea level.

As mentioned before, this will be Coulthard's second demonstration drive for Red Bull this year, following his Belfast demo 3 weeks ago. After experiencing the thrill of driving an F1 car at such altitude, he will prepare for the Chinese race next weekend, which he'll commentate alongside Martin Brundle for the BBC.
