The 2012 Range Rover Evoque has been named SUV of the Year by Esquire magazine, as part of 2012 Esquire Car Awards, which appear in the magazine's October issue, on newsstands September 18.
"The Land Rover team is really pleased that the editors of Esquire magazine have named the Range Rover Evoque SUV of the Year," said Kim McCullough, Brand Vice President, Land Rover North America. "The various awards and honors our newest model has received this year exemplifies that the Range Rover Evoque has set a new benchmark for consumers who want a capable, modern compact SUV."

The Evoque has been recognized for its forward and elegant styling. It’s also been named as the most fuel efficient Range Rover ever produced. It’s also the only two-door coupe version of an SUV out there that offers true luxury.

All Evoques sold in the US, where Esquire is based, are powered by 240 hp 2.0-liter turbo engines and come with all-wheel drive as standard. Despite this, they get 28 mpg highway and 18 mpg city on EPA standards.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
