After having the world’s most expensive police supercars fleet, it seems the RL-CF 1 chair, inspired by the streamlined beauty of Ralph Lauren’s own McLaren F1 race car, will be the next trend setter.
It’s only natural for one to think of $17,250 (EUR 12,730) carbon fiber chairs when you say "millionaires enjoying their morning coffee"... or not. But it doesn’t really matter what we think, considering we’re looking at an exclusive chair designed by the famous Ralph Lauren more than 10 years ago, that is still on the market. What, you thought luxury dyed after the Financial Crises? Think better! One of the places the chair was recently spotted at is a store from Dubai.
And what’s so incredible about it, you’ll probably wonder. Well, it features 54 layers of tissue carbon laid by hand to form the frame, which support a leather seat and back. According to its designers, it was originally inspired by Lauren’s actual McLaren F1 race car, the very rare one made also out of carbon fiber.
