In order to showcase the full range of Pahlawan concept cars that were unveiled at the 2010 Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show, Proton has launched a dedicated section of its website for the six models. The company has also provided additional information for those interested in these vehicles.
The centerpieces of the section remain the Emas citycar and the Proton Tuah Concept, which previews the all-new Persona R. Know as the Espire in the early stages of design, the Tuah clearly incorporates the brand’s latest styling lines that should make their way into the rest of the range. However, its high spec level that incorporates high-end equipments such as the photochromatic glass roof, LED fog lamps and rear combination lamps, adaptive headlamps, and adaptive spoiler, will not be seen in the upcoming Persona.
Just like the equipment, the 1.8-liter engine that the Malaysian manufacturer says is under the concept’s bonnet will not make it to production. This is because the long-awaited turbocharged Campro engine should be Persona’s sole powertrain offering. The recently released dimensions of the concept also show that the new sedan will be slightly bigger, in both length and wheelbase.
The Proton Emas, which should arrive in Asia from 2013, is fitted with the same hybrid powertrain as before and features the same technical specification. Meanwhile, the Proton Lekir Concept, the Proton-badged Lotus Europa already confirmed for production, has finally been given an official engine, in the form of a 1.6-liter CFE unit.
The Proton Kasturi Concept, a version of the facelifted Saga, carries the same 1.3-liter engine, while the Lekiu MPV concept is listed with a Campro IAFM engine.
