Proton stole the spotlight at the 2010 Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show with its Lekiu sportscar and Jebat Evo-inspired rally racer for the road, together with two sedan concepts and one small SUV. This Kasturi concept is the smaller of the two sedans.

Despite the concept car tag, the Kasturi is in fact the facelifted Proton Saga, which was unveiled in Thailand last week. The car, named after famous Malaccan warrior Hang Kasturi, should arrive in Malaysia in early 2011 under the Saga name.

The only difference between the Kasturi Concept and the actual facelifted Saga is a black-and-white themed body kit designed by Proton Design. The paint scheme was created in order to align the car to the style of the other vehicles that the manufacturer brought to the show.

New LED lights, sporty alloy wheels and black stripes along the shoulders and the base of the Saga have all been added to the concept. We would expect a lot of demand for these features if Proton ever decided to offer them as a body kit option.

While there are no mechanical changes in the powertrain, the facelifted 2011 Saga has received a number of alterations to the exterior and interior. On the outside, the production model will sport revised grille, headlamps, a modified bumper and a few panel lines added to the bonnet. The side door mirrors now come with turn indicators. The rear end receives revised tail lights with LED lighting, a new bumper with reflectors and a lip spoiler on the boot lid.
