Keeping with the tradition of mounting big superchargers onto every car they can get their hands on, ProCharger have fitted such a device onto Ford’s 2010 F-150 SVT Raptor truck.
The result of mating the 6.2-liter V8 engine in the Ford and its new air induction system is a staggering 600 hp (447 kW), 200 hp (149 kW) more that than stock version. ProCharger has not forgotten the Raptor’s 5.4 powerplant either, putting together a kit purpose built for it that bumps the power up to 505 hp (375 kW).
Both the D-1Sc system on the 6.2-liter V8 and the P-1SC-1 on the 5.4-liter have a self-contained configuration, which means they easily fit underneath the stock hood of the pick-up truck. The belt driven system is a straight bolt onto the engine, requiring no modifications to either the engine block or exhaust system. Between 8 and 9 psi of boost is provided, resulting in a 50 to 60 percent increase in power over stock figures.
The tuning kits consists of a ProCharger supercharger, air-to-air intercooler (mounted in the front, behind the stock grill), tubing for the intercooler, brackets, larger fuel injectors, ProFlow bypass valve and CPU remap as well as a forward facing air inlet that maximizes air intake for the engine. Both kits are available with a helical gearset that reduces supercharger noise levels in the cabin of the truck.
ProCharger also provide a complete do-it-yourself type kit, that includes everything except for the new 60 lb/hr injectors and the computer remap. This can be yours for just $5,446 (EUR 3,926.45) for the 5.4-liter Raptor or $5,646 (EUR 4,070.25) for the 6.2-liter.
