Preh to Supply Climate Control Systems for 2010 Ford Taurus

Preh has been selected the supplier of electronic climate control systems for the 2010 model year Ford Taurus and Ford Flex. This is the second deal in a row between Preh and Ford as the part supplier has been awarded the contract to develop and produce remote climate control modules for the 2010 Mustang.

"Preh has more than two decades of experience with climate control systems and we now supply about four million climate controls worldwide every year. These are developed either as complete systems with integrated electronics and climate control software, or as control units with electronics hardware but no visible parts in the car's interior," Nick Lontscharitsch, senior vice president of sales at Preh, Inc. said according to theautochannel.com.

Preh says its systems are based on an electronic control unit and an advanced software that helps create an adequate temperature for the driver and passengers. An even more advanced model integrating climate controls and other infotainment buttons in a single panel is also available, according to Lontscharitsch.

The new electronic climate control systems will be produced in Monterrey, Mexico, and will be delivered to Ford's Taurus assembly plant in Chicago and to the Flex assembly plant in Oakville, Canada, the aforementioned source added.

As for the 2010 Ford Taurus, it was officially unveiled at the 2009 North American International Auto Show and is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 Duratec engine capable of generating 263 horsepower and a torque of 249 foot-pounds. It is expected to arrive in Ford's dealership network in late 2009, with pricing likely to start at $25,995.
