Porsche is set to open a new Experience Center in the United States in 2014, the German automaker revealed today. Located in Los Angeles and built on 53 acres of land, it will be the company’s fourth Experience Center, joining the ones already available in Atlanta, England (Silverstone) and Germany (Leipzig).
Created to offer test drives on a variety of tracks and conditions, Porsche’s new Experience Center will be opened in the automakers biggest North American market, as California accounts for 25 percent with around 10,000 sportscars and SUVs sold each year.
“It will be a high-performance training center, where enthusiasts can experience and drive the car in all the conditions you normally couldn’t get in the real world,” said Detlev von Platen, CEO of Porsche Cars North America. “There will be a variety of tracks and conditions. It may not have big speeds, but it will be as much fun as 200 miles an hour on the highway.”
Porsche expects the Los Angeles Experience Center to gather up to 100 driver per day. Admission fee details have yet to be released, but Porsche said it has invested about $29 million in the new center.
