Porsche's Hardcore Cayman to Use "R" Name

It’s no secret that Porsche has been developing a hardcore incarnation of the Cayman and that the production version of the car will be unveiled at the L.A. Auto Show.Last week, the German company announced it will bring “a mid-engined sports car” to the event and that it will also use the occasion to make the North American debut of the 911 GTS and the 911 Speedster.

"The world premiere will be flanked by new 911 models, the 911 GTS and the 911 Speedster. With these three thoroughbred sports cars, Porsche crowns an outstanding year in the US market. The story of the car is pretty simple: a more powerful, lighter Cayman that is focused on offering pure driving sensations.

Our say: We’ve been waiting for a long time to see Porsche unleash the Cayman’s full potential.
