Gearheads, listen up! You might want to give all-electric Porsches a try. The Stuttgart-based marque is known for taking very good care of its customers (unless they want a really, really special car without spending millions beforehand). However, it's also concentrating on giving those who are not part of the club yet a chance to see what it's like to live life the Porsche way. Yes, it's on them. You won't have to pay a dime.
Some Porsche owners reading this might feel a bit perplexed. Not because they don't know that the automaker can create amazing surprises, but because they might have wanted a certain car at some point and were surprised to find out that getting it was going to be a lengthy and costly process.

As recently revealed, getting a limited-edition Porsche can become quite the adventure. Some people paid $8,000 for a "plastic watch" just to be considered for an allocation. They didn't even secure a place in the queue by paying insane markups for a wrist accessory they didn't want.

However, Porsche is always looking for potential new customers who want to experience what the brand is all about. After all, that name is known globally. Few automakers can pride themselves on such an achievement.

But Porsche is making a strong push in the electric vehicle sector. The Taycan was a resounding success and, honestly, a good "zero-emission" car with enough of its maker's famous DNA to convince even purists that the absence of an internal combustion engine wasn't necessarily a sacrilege.

But the Taycan joined the marque's ranks as a brand-new model. It came to this world as a futuristic Panamera. Porsche has now entered into uncharted territory because it completely electrified one of its most important models – the Macan. Although the gas-powered version is still alive and kicking, the new one is better in every aspect because it encompasses all the novelties. It's refined, more stylish, and battery-electric.

The brand understood from the get-go that it wouldn't be easy to convince its existing customers or other potential buyers to part ways with at least $80,000 of their hard-earned money. The Turbo model will set you back even more - $107,000! And since we're talking about Porsche, you can expect to tick at least a couple of option boxes.

It's unfair to compare the Macan Electric with the Tesla Model Y, but it must be done. The latter was the world's best-selling car in 2023. It remains one of the most attractive options for those looking to give up on personal mobility powered by controlled explosions.

At the time of writing, you could buy three Model Ys for the price of a Macan Turbo Electric and still have some spare cash to pay for Supercharging and take a trip. That's thanks to the EV tax credit, which the posh Porsche isn't eligible for because it's too expensive.

So, Porsche came up with an ingenious idea to convince prospective buyers that the Macan Electric was worth it. It created a community of "insiders." Not like Mazda, though! The German automaker's idea was meant to bring together potential Macan Electric buyers. After all, let's not forget that Porsche clubs are a thing, and they're very serious. The American one has over 160,000 members!

The German carmaker started shy by collecting e-mail addresses and phone numbers. But if you signed up for its newsletter and agreed to be contacted, you would have received the first electronic mail that announced the official US debut of the Macan Electric. It's happening on International Women's Day in Austin, Texas. Yes, Porsche is going to Tesla's newfound home to launch the vehicle that "represents the future" of the brand.

The eSUV will be presented to Americans at the South by Southwest (SXSW), a six-day event where professionals from many industries meet to exchange ideas, experiences, and connect. It's a grand festival. The automaker is planning on offering two lucky people plane tickets, travel stipends, five days of hotel accommodation in Austin, invitations to special events, and full access to all SXSW events.

Of course, they will also see the new eSUV in person and decide if it's worth their money. The entire package is worth around $16,000.

Porsche Macan EV insiders residing in one of the 48 contiguous US states or DC can sign up to partake in this sweepstakes. So, everyone has a fair shot at getting spoiled by Porsche.

Fret not; this won't be the last opportunity of this kind. The brand plans to organize more exclusive giveaways soon. They could be even more interesting than spending five days in Texas! So, you might want to sign up.
