Despite the internet allowing for much easier roasting of those who build and/or drive supercar replicas, this subculture doesn't seem to be bothered, carrying on with its hideous ways.
The latest example of this comes from the Porsche Carrera GT replica in the images below. As it happens on most copycat-spotting occasions, one hopes not to find a Fiero beneath the surface. However, as fate usually has it, the dreaded 80s Pontiac is the one serving as a base.

Why do people wish to steer clear of the Fiero? It's simple actually and all we need to do in order to explain that is check out the specs for this particular car. While the V6 automatic details might not sound half bad to an untrained eye, when you have a wannabe Carrera GT with 125 hp and a three-speed slushbox, you won't be going anywhere near fast.

The Craigslist seller claims some $60,000 were invested into this contraption, but the offer is generous enough to let any buyer get away with paying $25,000 for the damn thing.

As for the details, most of the 125 horses might still be there, since the drivetrain has a claimed mileage of 29,000 - the joy! The leather interior is new, so while you'll avoid the toll age takes, you'll get to enjoy the almost grotesque 80s GM styling. Interestingly, the seller was kind enough to include a picture of the actual CGT in the gallery, so anybody can spot the differences.

In a totally unexpected move, the builder that came up with this... Poorsche has more replicas prepared for us. Coming from Las Vegas (again, a total surprise), the builder also shows a Bentley copy parked next to the wannabe Carrera GT. And while these contraptions admittedly one-up many pieces of Craigslist merchandise, they still work great for sickness-inducing purposes, so perhaps the farmaceutical industry should take notice.

P.S.: Wonder if they can copy the ceramic brakes using dinner plates.
