When a Porsche 911 GT3 RS PDK lines up next to a 2017 911 Turbo S for a drag race, the result of the brawl is obvious. However, keeping an eye on the gap between the two uber-special Neunelfers makes for an enticing activity, which is why we're here to give you just that.
Both rear-engined coupes seen in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page come with a special status and we'll start with the Rennsport Neunelfer.
Supercar aficionados who buy speed demons coming from the Volkswagen Group sometimes get their kicks out of mixing colors. In the case of the rear-engined coupe we have here, the Zuffenhausen machine borrows a Lamborghini hue, namely Grigio Telesto.
As for the Turbo S, the detail that makes this vehicle special turns the drag race into a downright brutal one. We've shown you this 991.2 Porsche before, with the vehicle packing an ECU remap.
As such, the twin-turbo 3.8-liter boxer of the machine now packs around 600 ponies. This might not sound like much of a departure from the 580 hp output of the stock 991.2 Turbo S, but when you consider the fact that the GT3 RS comes with 500 ponies, the difference is enough to sustain the point made above.
Then there's the torque gap between the two 911s. In stock condition, the overboost feature of the Turbo S allows it to deliver 553 lb-ft, while the naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter heart of the GT3 RS comes with 339 lb-ft.
While the drag race comes in the final part of the video below, the footage is focused on the Grigio Telesto-dressed GT3 RS and we also get to see the track tool doing some runs in shaved mode (read: without its rear wing).
If, like us, you get a terrible itch to see a stock 991.2 Turbo S racing a GT3 RS after checking out the clip we have here, you can head over to the story we delivered back in June.
