Have you head the classic tale about the modded muscle car that sets out to give supercars a place in the hall of shame? Well, it looks like we're dealing with a fresh example of such drag racing stories. And while the slab of America comes in the form of a Ford Mustang, a Porsche 911 GT2 RS has been cast in the other role.
Now, if the pony we have here seems a bit familiar, it's probably because we've recently seen the Blue Oval toy duking it out with a Ferrari 812 Superfast.
Now, as I mentioned while talking about the said velocity encounter, we need to take these shenanigans with a grain of salt.
For one thing, both the 812 and the 2RS are run by the same Instagrammers, namely the Dobre Brothers. So while this 'Stang definitely seems quick, it wouldn't surprise me to see the whole drag-racing-supercars thing was a social media stunt.
Nevertheless, we're looking at an ex-gen Mustang GT here. More importantly, the 5.0-liter heart of the pony has been fitted with a suppercharged supplied by Whipple.
And with these positive displacement blowers having no issue sending the outout of the V8 into the four-digit arena, the Ford could enjoy such benefits, which would explain its sprinting abilities.
Of course, since the appearance of the muscle car doesn't deliver too many hints on its newfound running skills, we can label this as a sleeper.
As for the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, if we compare the fight it put up against the Mustang with that involving the Ford and the Ferrari, it looks like the twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six of the Porscha delivers more than the factory 700 hp.
With the Mustang GT serving as the camera car, we can enjoy the voice of the supercarged V8, which makes for a sweeter experience compared to the one delivered by the Porscha.
