With Porsche having recently introduced the 992 incarnation of the 911, we've been busy keeping an eye on the eight-gen Neunelfer, bringing you real-world sightings and talking about future derivatives like the GT3. However, we need to remind you the GT Division has an imminent gift for us, albeit one that doesn't keep the engine at the back. We're referring to the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4.
The German automotive producer will introduce the second-gen GT4 in the coming months, so it's no wonder prototypes are being driven around with almost no camouflage.
And you can find the latest sighting of the kind below, with this showing the aero-sculpted Zuffenhausen toy in traffic.
As before, the GT4 will get bespoke front and rear aprons, with the styling becoming slightly more aggressive. Note that we've added a series of spyshots in the gallery above, so you can also check out the rest of the mid-engined delight.
On the tech front, Porsche has confirmed the GT4 will maintain a flat-six and we're expecting this to use the 4.0-liter unit animating the 991.2 GT3 and GT3 RS, since this is the only naturally aspirated engine left in the Porsche lineup.
However, while the unit delivers 500 hp on the GT3, with an extra 20 ponies for the Rennsport model, we're expecting its output to sit closer to 400 hp for the GT4.
Previous prototype sighting have hinted at a manual transmission and we wouldn't hold our breath for Porsche offering the PDK, since this would increase cannibalization risks.
However, as with the outgoing model, the GT4 Clubsport, which is the racing version, will come with a PDK - here's some spy material showcasing the circuit toy.
As for the Porsche 718 Boxster Spyder, this has also been spied testing in production trim and will make its debut within the same timeframe as the fixed-roof special.
