Pop Art Make-up on Bentley Continental GT

We must admit that seeing a Bentley all painted in little stars, one large flower, and colorful figures, did took us by surprise at little. At least at first, as then we found out what happened with the poor car. A Brazilian artist, Romero Britto, used it for his ‘Come to my World’ exhibition.

The guy says he wanted to put a smile on people’s faces. Well, he somehow achieved the goal, though it was hard to look at the pictures longer than 10 seconds.

Romero’s paintings, graphics and sculptures can be seen in several art galleries across the world, including the Museum of Modern Art and Guggenheim in New York. Among his friends and collectors, the artist counts Kennedys, Rothchilds, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steffi Graf and Elton John.

Romero was thrilled to be given the chance to turn a Bentley into a Pop Art sculpture: “It is the most beautiful and elegant car in the world. The lines of the new design are perfect to paint as a clean canvas. What a way to start a fascinating and colourful journey.”

Raul Pires, Head of Exterior Design at Bentley Motors agrees with Romero: “A Bentley holds the unique combination of exhilaration and relaxation in one package. An automotive sculpture with elegant powerful surfaces. The ultimate in craftsmanship.”

Bentley Motors donated the Coupe on the occasion of Britto´s Berlin exhibition “Come to my World” in the Automobil Forum Unter den Linden. The exhibition will take place between July 10 - September 6 at the Mensing Gallery. At the end of the exhibit, the “Britto-Bentley” will be put up for auction in aid of the Nathalie Todenhöfer Foundation for multiple sclerosis as well as Best Buddies, an organization that fights for the integration of the mentally disabled within society.
