It’s getting a bit frustrating to see the F80 M3 all around the world, spotted in various circumstances and yet be left only with the viewing pleasure.
Even so, we’re thankful for these moments and the creative people that think about new ways to entice us with more and more photos. One of the latest photo shoots featuring the new M3 had it posing against an M Sport 3 Series.
Not too long ago, the M Sport 335i was the closest thing you could get next to the real deal. It featured a 3-liter turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine and the M Sport package that was meant to make it look more aggressive. Coupled with the M Performance Power kit, it would have more than decent power to handle any sort of situation.
Get all the M Performance body parts and you’d get a more than decent looking 3er with plenty of performance behind it. However, it’s still light years behind the M3.
With a brand new M engine making 431 HP and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque out of 3 liters, 6 cylinders and two turbochargers, the uber-sedan will, once again, lead the pack in its segment. Just for comparison purposes, the adjacent gallery has both of them next to each other.
