Peugeot 407 Coupe New 3.0l V6 241 BHP Engine

Peugeot recently announced two new engines for the 407 Coupe that will bring improved efficiency, high power output and reduced CO2 emissions.

The new V6 HDi PEF 3.0-liter engine develops a maximum power of 240 bhp at 3,800 rpm and 450 Nm between 1,600 and 3,800 rpm. This particular powerplant makes the Peugeot 407 Coupe the most powerful production vehicle ever manufactured by the French manufacturer in its 120-year history. Mated to a 6-speed sequential automatic transmission, the car reaches sixty in 7.7 seconds.

It reduces fuel consumption by more than 15 percent when compared to the 2.7-liter V6 HDi unit which it replaces in the Peugeot 407 Coupe range. Power is increased by 18 percent, providing a fuel consumption rating of 39.2 mpg (7.2 l/100km) and releasing 189 g/km of CO2 instead of 225 g/km previously. The engines is compliant with Euro 5 standards and comes equipped with a particle emissions filter (PEF).

In addition to the aforementioned engine, Peugeot will also introduce a 2.0-liter HDi PEF configuration that develops 163 bhp at 3,750 rpm and 340 Nm of torque between 2,000 and 3,000 rpm. It eats up to 5.4 l/100km (52.3 mph) in combined cycle while releasing 140 g/km of CO2. This new engine has 20% more power than the previous 2.0-litre HDi.

In France, the 407 Coupe is priced at 33,350 euros for the 2.0-litre HDi PEF 120 kW (163 bhp) and 47,600 euros for the V6 3.0-litre HDi PEF 177 kW (241 bhp). Both engines will join the range in September.
