Peugeot strives to improve sales in every single market so it recently launched a new special edition model aimed at boosting sales in the United Kingdom. Called Sport XS, the new trim joins the 4007 SUV range and offers a wide array of sporty features, obviously at affordable prices.

The new edition is based on the entry-level 4007 SE according to Carscoop and boasts a 2.2-liter diesel configuration that puts out 156 horsepower. More specifically, the Sport XS adds black leather upholstery, a Sport styling kit - chrome side bars, wring mirror covers, twin tail pipe extension and chrome door handles - plus 18-inch alloy wheels. Additionally, the French manufacturer is offering body colored front lower and rear roof spoilers, according to the aforementioned source.

The Peugeot 4007 Sport XS is priced at 24,945 pounds, which means it is 1,150 pounds more expensive than the base SE model and 1,150 pounds cheaper than the top-of-the-line GT edition.

Peugeot is also doing its best to improve its offering in the small car sector, with the 207 expected to compete with the newly-launched Renault Clio in most European markets. However, Renault is afraid of the competition and repeatedly insisted that Clio has the ability to beat Peugeot's 207 in this class.

"We think we have developed a product that can take on Peugeot's 207, and anyone else for that matter," Renault's director for the small-car segment Yves-Eric Morel told Automotive News Europe.

"The new design, the new features, and the touch of sportiness associated with the Renault Sport models will give us advantages over the 207, and the rest of the competition."
