Revealed in March 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show, the Peugeot 208 is a much better car than its predecessor, the 208. However, it's not getting any younger, which means marketing teams have to work extra hard to keep the sales meter going. This is their latest work, the the 208 Like edition, a French model with a bit of pizzaz.
It will be available both as a 3- and a 5-door in most major European markets, starting in France. Easily identified by its 208 Like stickers located under the freshly repainted wing mirrors, the supermini will be sold in these five distinctive colors: Blanc Banquise, Gris Aluminium, Noir Perla Nera, Bleu Virtuel and Rouge Rubi.

The edition seems to be based on the Access trim, which is exactly why it comes with plastic wheel covers instead of alloys and no fog lights. The former component is painted blue on while cars and while on all the other colors, together with grille frame and rearview mirrors.

The same sort of treatment can be expected inside, where the 208 Like boasts white or blue seatbelts, door trim, climate control area and gearshift lever. Despite not having alloys, its a generously trimmed car with iPod connectivity, electric windows, cruise control with and six airbags.

Engine choices start with the 1-liter PureTech boasting 69 hp, in which case the car will cost €10,490 in France. It's actually a big saving over the €12,400 list price of a 3-door Access model. You can also opt for the 1.4-liter HDi diesel with the same output, but expect to pay considerably more.
