Peugeot 207 Sportium Introduced

Peugeot’s UK division is introducing a new sporty edition for the 207 hatchback model, aiming to increase the vehicle’s sales and enhance its image. Dubbed 207 Sportium, the special edition can be ordered with a 95 hp 1.4 liter VTi petrol powerplant or with a 92 hp 1.6 liter HDi unit. Both units meet Euro 5 emission standards. The fresh incarnation of the 207 uses the previous special edition 207 Millesim model as a base, adding multiple goodies.

The list of standard features offered by the car includes power steering, six airbags, remote control central locking with deadlocks, electric front windows – “one touch” for the driver, reach and rake adjustable steering, radio/ CD player, ABS, EBFD, EBA, trip computer, electrically operated / heated door mirrors, manual air-conditioning, front fog lights, chrome effect finish to the front grille, colour-coded body side mouldings (including rear bumper), Peugeot connect USB with Bluetooth, alloy wheels (15-inch on petrol models and 16-inch on HDi models), rear parking aid, Sportium interior pack and dark tinted rear window / rear side glass.

The fitment of Peugeot Connect USB & Bluetooth enables a portable MP3 player or iPod to be connected to the vehicle and full Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity allows hands-free phone calls to be made and received by the driver using just the controls on the steering column,” stated the press release.

The Peugeot 207 Sportium has a starting price of GBP12,595 (EUR14,363 or $19,980), for the three-door model equipped with the 1.4 liter petrol engine. The diesel range starts at GBP13,895 (EUR 15,949 or $22,188).
